Why Fearless?

Right now, education is the single greatest tool for lifting people out of poverty, yet 129 million girls are out of school worldwide. Meanwhile, a whopping 76% of girls say they want to lead, yet they stop raising their hands in 3rd grade. What is happening? And who is standing up for girls?

The reality is very few. We see many organizations dedicated to helping, yet less than 2% of all philanthropic giving goes to girls—that’s less than $6 a girl. In this moment, when women and girls are losing ground on everything we’ve fought for, Fearless was born.

Fearless Girl Manifesto

Every girl has a right to…

  • Have access to free, reliable healthcare; nourishing food; stable housing; and a great education

  • Be herself with no pressure to fit in or to accommodate how others define what it means to be a girl

  • Dream big and be unimpeded by man-made barriers to accomplish these dreams

  • Be respected and treated like a leader

  • Be supported by adults so she can try, fail, pick herself up, and keep on trying when addressing the problems that surround her, her community, and her world

  • Learn how to actively be an ally to others, especially other girls and women
